The “Angers Connectez-vous au futur” evening

On Thursday 11th May 2017, Sébastien Missoffe, CEO of Google France, and Christophe Béchu, mayor of Angers signed a partnership aimed to optimize the presence on the web of professionals, especially SOHO and SME. Once the partnership signed, Google has been able to inaugurate the first step of a whole France’s Tour in Angers. During two days, the 12th and the 13th may 2017, a series of workshops, symposiums, meetings related to the digital uses, has been proposed by about twenty Google coaches, both for the general public and professionals. More than 4 000 people came to this exceptional event in preview.

This inauguration gave rise to a special evening “Angers Connectez-vous au futur”, during which the mayor highlighted all the actions implemented during the year to promote the territory (international events gathering many stakeholders on the region).
The partnership with Google and the coming in October 2017of the World Electronics Forum, strengthen the idea that Angers is a land of innovation just as well as a territory able to host huge events with an international dimension.

“By hosting the World Electronics Forum, the city of Angers follows its ambition to be a place for the industry of the future, explains Christophe Béchu, mayor of Angers and president of the urban area Angers Loire Métropole. This international event contributes to attract talents and economics opportunities on our territory. It is also a springboard for Angers’ influence and it will helps economics local stakeholders to explore new markets.”
Indeed, Angers has many decisive advantages to welcome these electronics companies. Everything can be achieved here, from the conception to the manufacturing. The region enjoys a real quality of life constantly praised in the French press. Angers’ city has been able to create and to support strong collaborations between research organizations and innovative companies.
Thus, from the 24th to 28th October 2017, around a hundred federations and leaders of electronics industries worldwide will see with their own eyes that Angers can really become the “Silicon Valley” of tomorrow.

During the digital evening of Angers Connectez-vous au futur, Christophe Béchu introduced the highlights of the World Electronics Forum. On Wednesday 25th October, federations of electronics will gather in the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud in order to share and to debate about the industry of the future. On Thursday 26th October, the cluster “WE Network” will organize local companies “learning expeditions” to show the wealth of our territory around 7 smart usages of tomorrow: Smart Home, Smart Mobility, Smart Security, Smart Health, Smart Energy, Smart Agri and Smart Wear. The members of World Electronics Forum will then participate on Friday 27th October to the Forum of decision makers, at Le Quai Theater. Workshops, keynotes, showroom and business meetings will favor the link between foreign federations, start-up, big companies, school and French companies. Finally, on Saturday 28th October, a Media Forum will be dedicated to the industry of the future: keynotes and debates aimed at general public will be organized around the digital, electronics and industry 4.0.
In order to integrate Angers’s inhabitants to this international event, Angers will live at the same rhythm of the Connected Week from 21st to 28th October 2017. This week of animations, will be dedicated to new technologies. The Festival D will inaugurate this digital and electronics week, and the Media Forum gathering prestigious speakers will end this week full of animations and innovations.
